The world premiere of a video series – and a plan to create a healthy South Los Angeles

“Where Do I Get My Five?” portrays five distinct stories about the difficulties of getting healthy produce in South L.A. Student written, shot and acted, the videos strategically advance HEAC’s goals of youth engagement in community health, pointing to neighborhood-based policies.

The premiere video screening of “Where Do I Get My Five?” was hosted by Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry in the Tom Bradley Room, high atop Los Angeles City Hall, on November 30, 2007.


Public Matters and Councilwoman Perry worked together ensuring that students would not only have access to local leaders and representatives, but also that their work would be considered by decision makers, health advocates, and community leaders. Students also presented their project to the L.A. Planning Commission.
