At our recent June 6th Youth Screening, each PDUB Student received an official Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Los Angeles in recognition of their work on behalf of Historic Filipinotown, courtesy of Council President Eric Garcetti (CD-13).

It was a shock for Christopher Rivera, a long-term resident of Echo Park, to find out that he in fact lives in Historic Filipinotown. While describing his favorite spot in the neighborhood, Christopher talks about the diversity of the area and what the term “Historic Filipinotown” means to him.
